"An artist is a man of action, whether he creates a personality, invents an expedient, or finds the issue of a complicated situation."  -Joseph Conrad 1857-1924

You may have noticed these words in the upper left of my webpage as you have been tooling around. My life pretty much revolves around these words. It may paint he picture that I paint, draw, sit in an office and work on designs for a company or some other artistic venture as an everyday job. This couldn't be farther from the truth.  I spend my day job at a local gun & law enforcement store selling duty gear and self defense equipment and my nights bouncing at a local club babysitting drunk 30 year old teenagers. Where does that tie into my being a web designer?

Nowhere. Web and graphic design is just something I enjoy doing. Do I want to be a web designer full time? Yes, it is my passion to own my own web design firm and work at it full time. However until this happens I have to work a normal "nine to five" just like everyone else.   As well as my day job I have three children, two daughters who are nine years old and four years old, and a son six years old. I also have an Australian Shepherd named Sabot. She has such a personality, she even grins.  I grew up in a little town in Alaska, this feeds my hobbies. I like to hunt, fish, hike, bicycle and camp. Like to drive into the mountains until I can't drive anymore, and then walk a little bit. I shoot competitively, I listen to music, read, work on my Jeep, drive around aimlessly and more.  Some of my other hobbies are the result of the more "geeky" side of me. I love computers, pretty much anything that has to with them as well. I have had a computer since I was 9 years old, since the days of the 386 max. I play role-playing games like Dungeons and Dragons. I listen to music all the time, nothing like a good classical score, or powerful instrumental to get the creative juices stirring.

In a nutshell that is me, an "Average Joe" who just happens to be named Steve.
